Youth are being bombarded with highly sexualized messages, being told that sex=love and also that sex is not that big of a deal. Confusing messages. They are not being shown real life consequences these actions.

All forms of media are giving teens the impression that everyone their age is having sex and it’s ok. The stats don’t support this distorted reality that the media is portraying.  

Free to Be aims at giving accurate information to teens about relationships, sex and abstinence.

Free to be is playing an important role in the life of Sonoma County teens by teaching about relationships and the importance of thinking about their future. We cultivate relationships with students and teach them respect for themselves and for others around them.

When teaching in schools, we present postponing sexually activity until marriage as one option. We share with students that this is a choice that they have. We are not the only message they receive.
